Filter panels: You can place filter panels anywhere on your dashboards. With this dashboard, the filter panel has been placed on the left. Filters on dashboards allow you to slice-and-dice the data to view different perspectives. Select ‘Premium’ for the Premium Category filter and click Apply — this will update every chart to only show sales for Premium products. You can return the dashboard to its initial state by clicking Reset at any time.

Tooltips: Hover your cursor over chart data to highlight specific metrics or categorical data. Right-click on any data point to access the advanced tooltip options — the interactions you see here are dependent on how the report or chart was set up.

Drill Through: With Yellowfin, there are multiple ways you can drill into your data. One option is to perform a Drill Through. To see this in action, click on any account segment on the “Sales by Account Segment” chart. This brings you to another linked chart or report for that selected segment — showing more detail in a different perspective.

Drill Down: You can also drill deeper within the dataset through a specific data hierarchy. Click on any text hyperlink within the “Sales by Category – Detail” report and you’ll see the Subcategory breakdowns for each Product Category
