Yellowfin announces tighter integration with MySQL

Melbourne, Australia.—Yellowfin International, continues to make BI easy by announcing support and tight integration between the Yellowfin BI Suite and MySQL. The integration between these complementary products allows customers to implement web based reporting and analysis solutions that take advantage of best-in-class functionality offered by both suppliers.

MySQL is gaining widespread adoption and is moving more broadly into the enterprise with an estimate of more than 10 million active installations. Yellowfin for MySQL addresses the growing need among a wide range of people in businesses to quickly explore trends, patterns and anomalies in their data. Yellowfin is designed to be easy to use via an intuitive web-based user interface for everyday business users, as well as provide the power required by business analysts. Analysis capabilities include on-the-fly drill, pivot, filtering, and summarisation of data. Information can also be visualised using a wide range of chart types and options.

“For both business and technical reasons, MySQL is a natural environment for us to support,” said Glen Rabie, CEO of Yellowfin. “This partnership reinforces MySQL and Yellowfin’s shared commitment to open standards and service oriented business intelligence.  In addition, application developers utilising the MySQL platform can leverage all the benefits of Yellowfin by embedding Yellowfin seamlessly into their applications.”
