Global Business Intelligence (BI) software vendor, Yellowfin, has signed a reseller agreement with internationally recognized software solutions and IT services provider, Sarawak Information Systems Sdn. Bhd. (SAINS) Group.
The agreement will see the SAINS Group – based in Sarawak, Malaysia – offer Yellowfin’s easy-to-use BI solution, and associated implementation and training services, throughout Malaysia and internationally.
SAINS Group CEO, Dato Teo Tien Hiong, said that partnering with Yellowfin would assist SAINS to further its status as one of the leading integrated information and communication technology service providers within Malaysia, and worldwide.
“We’ve worked diligently over the past 20 years to develop a reputation as Malaysia’s, and now one of the world’s, most regarded providers of world-class enterprise software solutions and ICT services,” said Dato Teo. “Yellowfin’s ability to cater for the demands of modern reporting and analysis initiatives – via its intuitive drag and drop interface and range of world-class Location Intelligence, Collaborative BI and Mobile BI features – made it a standout candidate for inclusion in our acclaimed stable of software solutions.”
SAINS Chief Solution Architect, Grant Than, said that one of the keys to successful reporting and analytics projects was the ability to quickly deliver tangible results, and that Yellowfin’s ease-of-deployment and integration satisfied that need.
“As a completely browser and Java based solution, Yellowfin is highly scalable, and can be integrated into most technical environments with an absolute minimum of disruption to existing infrastructure and applications,” said Than.
Than said that many organizations were looking to introduce or extend reporting and analytics capabilities throughout a variety of different departments and to larger numbers of users, and that Yellowfin addressed that demand.
“As organizations continue to capture more data and an increasing number of data types, the ability to create unified reporting – by combining data from different business areas and source systems – will become increasingly important,” said Than. “Yellowfin’s ability to support an array of data sources through a single intuitive interface – including any database that has a JDBC driver and even CSV files – positions it well to meet the current and future requirements of the Southeast Asian and global BI markets.”
Yellowfin CEO and cofounder, Glen Rabie, said that he was confident that the strategic alliance would form an integral part of Yellowfin’s presence in Southeast Asia.
“The team at SAINS have a strong history of success in assisting their customers to deliver outstanding projects and achieve exceptional results through the use of enterprise and BPM software solutions,” said Rabie.
“Combined with their deep understanding of the region’s ICT market and established list of high-profile clients, we’re confident they will play a pivotal role in growing Yellowfin’s Malaysian and Southeast Asian presence.”
SAINS has won numerous awards for the innovative implementation of its suite of business applications. SAINS’ Integrated Court Solution (ICS) won the 2009 United Nations’ World Summit Award for Best e-Content Applications product in the e-Government & Institutions category.
More recently, SAINS’ Integrate Solution for All Land Matters (i-SALaM) secured the 2012 Geospatial World Excellence Award in the category of Governance for Geospatial Software and Technology in Land Administration and Land Management.
