Yellowfin BI and analytics software named a 2014 DBTA Trend Setting Product

Global Business Intelligence (BI) and analytics software vendor, Yellowfin, has been named amongst Database Trends and Applications (DBTA) magazine’s Trend-Setting Products in Data for 2014.

Products were selected based on their uniqueness and importance to the field of data management and analysis.

“We created this list to do the heavy lifting for businesses; to point out products that are really transforming enterprise information management,” said Group Publisher of DBTA, Thomas Hogan. “New Business Intelligence solutions like Yellowfin, that enable faster and easier access to actionable information, are playing a crucial role in helping organization fully realize the value of their data.”

Yellowfin CEO, Glen Rabie, said that Yellowfin’s inclusion in DBTA’s 2014 Trend-Setting Products in Data list was reflective of the vendor’s dedication towards “making Business Intelligence easy”, and its focused approach to the rapidly developing BI marketplace.

“We’ve continued to work tirelessly to make the benefits of enterprise quality reporting and analytics accessible to users of all business backgrounds – regardless of technical skill,” said Rabie. “Our customers and the BI market have espoused the need for more consumer-oriented BI technology that enables faster and easier collective decisions-making, anywhere and anytime.

“It’s about putting the power of BI in the hands of as many people as possible, and emboldening them to extract and apply the insights learned as effortlessly as possible. Yellowfin’s ability to deliver on that need has seen the BI community take note.”

DBTA Managing Editor, Joyce Wells, said that the data-driven challenges facing organizations had never been greater, and that new innovative products were beginning to emerge to meet growing demand.

“Today, organizations need to manage more data, flowing faster, and with greater variety from more sources than ever before,” said Wells. “Concurrently, they are experiencing a pressing need to extract insight from that information quickly to support real-time decision-making, while maintaining data governance standards and around-the-clock availability.

“To help organizations manage and extract insight from today’s data-propelled environments, new products are coming to the fore.”

Unisphere Research‘s 2013 Big Data Opportunities Survey found that more than a third of its 304 respondents (36%) needed faster query performance, while 43% required faster access to larger datasets.

DBTA’s 2014 Trend-Setting Products in Data list was compiled via an extensive research process conducted by DBTA editorial staff. This year’s selections can be viewed HERE >
