Global Business Intelligence (BI) and analytics software vendor, Yellowfin, has released a connector for Google’s newly launched Cloud SQL platform.
The connector will allow Yellowfin clients and technology partners to automatically connect to Google Cloud SQL as a data source for reporting purposes via Yellowfin’s BI platform.
Google Cloud SQL is a fully-managed database service that makes it easy to set-up, maintain, manage and administer relational MySQL databases in the cloud.
“Yellowfin’s Google Cloud SQL connector will enable Yellowfin users to quickly connect to Google Cloud SQL as a data source,” said Yellowfin Director of Product Marketing, John Ryan. “Yellowfin’s Google Cloud SQL connector empowers clients to execute high performance operational BI against OLTP [Online Transaction Processing] data, while also delivering an ideal backend for Yellowfin technology partners looking to provide Platform-as-a-Service [PaaS] analytics solutions.”
“Google Cloud SQL scales effortlessly and can be optimized for applications that have high data volumes and require high performance,” said Yellowfin Product Architect, Peter Damen. “Cloud SQL allows you to focus on your applications rather than administering your databases.
“Google Cloud SQL provides an ideal backend for Yellowfin clients and partners looking to consolidate their database environment in order to conduct high performance analytics on large datasets in the cloud.”
Yellowfin also supports Google BigQuery as a data source.
