Yellowfin Unveils Version 9.14 with AI Assistants, REST API Enhancements

AUSTIN, TEXAS, USA, December 13, 2024 - Yellowfin, a leading global provider of business intelligence (BI) and analytics solutions, has officially launched version 9.14, bringing customers a host of significant improvements aimed at enhancing user experience, reporting, and REST API functionality. Most notably, this release incorporates the beta release of two new artificial intelligence (AI) enabled features: Ask Yellowfin and Code Assistant, and a revamped report-building experience which enables more intuitive interaction, further boosting user productivity and efficiency.

Ask Yellowfin is a new AI-powered chatbot assistant that allows end-users to ask questions about how to use Yellowfin and access real-time support and guidance as they navigate the platform, from basic navigation all the way through-to complex analysis tasks, making the Yellowfin experience even more seamless. Code Assistant is a specialized chatbot that provides technical support surrounding Yellowfin REST and JSAPIs, including the API reference, some background information, and code samples.

One of the standout features in Yellowfin 9.14 is the expanded REST API functionality. Yellowfin’s REST API allows third-party developers to create their own applications and integrations with Yellowfin systems and content, working in tandem with existing integrations such as JavaScript API, or as a completely standalone integration tool. In 9.14, we introduced new functionality for REST API, including new content, dashboard, users and themes endpoints; cached filter refreshes; and a new integration API utility to enable external developers to get information about users and organizations in a more user-friendly interface.

Other key enhancements coming with Yellowfin 9.14 include improvements to Image Manager and User Access management, and further fine-grained control over attachment types for Yellowfin Export and Yellowfin Broadcast. These updates come in response to user feedback, aligning with Yellowfin’s commitment to continuous innovation and improved user satisfaction.
