How do I install IIS website and Linux App Server Seperately
16 January, 2013
Is it possible to install the website on an IIS 7 server and the application server on a SUSE linux box? I also need to add the JDBC for Informix so I can't get past the datbase prompt on the installation wizard.
Thanks John
Thanks John
Hi John,
At the moment it is not possible to install Yellowfin into an Informix database, and I'm not sure if that is because we just haven't got around to implementing it yet or whether there are actual technical hurdles preventing it.
Our developer who has done the previous work on Yellowfin connecting to Informix as a datasource is returning to work on Monday, so I will be able to find out then and get back to this post to let you know.
Also, in regards to your IIS query, it should be fine to install across different boxes. The following post contains some information you may find useful : Can YF coexist with IIS on Port 80?
Regards,
Dave

Hi John,
just to confirm so there is no misunderstanding, Yellowfin does not install into Informix (i.e. the database prompt in the installation wizard is prompting you for a database to use for Yellowfin to store its metadata), however, Yellowfin does connect to Informix as a datasource (i.e. a database containing data that you would like to create reports from).
So to get through the installation wizard just choose whichever database from the list that you would prefer to store your Yellowfin meta data in, then once having finished the installation, then you can go about creating a connection to an Informix datasource.
Here is a link to a Forum post about how to install a JDBC driver, you will need this to add the Informix JDBC driver to your system.
Apologies for the misunderstanding, I hope that helps and of course if there are any more questions or if any issues arise then please don't hesitate to contact us.
