Maps – I Have Long & Lat – What Can I Do
4 June, 2015
Hi All,
Don't know much about Maps, have played for a couple of hours.
I have a Customer File with Long and Lat for each customer,
Postcode and State and Sales Value by Customer.
With this data it appears the only Map I can use is Google Map
All I have done is show the number of customers
How do I show the total sales
Sales by Postcode
Sales by State
Struggling to figure out what else I can do with
Google Maps and my existing data.
My Question
What else can I do with my Data and YellowFin out of the Box
Just some general ideas / clues / suggestions initially please
Thanks - Grant

Hi Grant,
Thank you for your question. I'm glad to hear that you are experimenting with Map charts, they are quite powerful and interesting!
Although I like Google Map charts, I have to say I am a much bigger fan of the GIS Google Map chart which takes a Geo Field (latitude and longitude combined) and plots a point similarly to a Google Map chart. However, GIS Google Map charts allow you to add fields to the tool tip area which can give contextual information as seen below:
Now these type of charts can take a second to configure, but the following Wiki guide: Geopacks should be able to help you out and give you some ideas on what you can do.
Also, our marketplace has a Geopack already created for Australia which will definitely curb configuration time. For your benefit, here is a link to the Yellowfin Marketplace.
Please let me know if you would like any other information!
Cheers,
Dustin

Hey,
Sorry for the interruption here.
Does Yellowfin also has a Geopack for US?
Thanks,
Cathy

Hi Cathy,
The US Geopack can be found on the Marketplace. You will need a portal login to have access to this, or
the company you purchased YF through can obtain this for you.
Thank you very much.
Kyle
